On the 28th of March, we returned to The Club for the first fixture of Scotland’s World Cup warm-up campaign. It was a special evening, marking the beginning of a journey that has been 28 years in the making.

For the first time since 1998, Scotland have qualified for the World Cup, and this match signalled the start of that campaign. While these fixtures are often labelled as “just friendlies,” their importance shouldn’t be overlooked.

These are the games where Steve Clarke has the opportunity to fine tune tactics, build connections within the squad, and make some of the toughest decisions ahead of the tournament. Every player is competing for their place, knowing that not everyone will make the final squad.

The result on the night may not define the campaign, but the performances certainly will. Each moment, each decision, and each contribution plays a part in shaping Scotland’s World Cup story.

The Club is our flagship suite, first opened at Hampden Park in 2025, and this marked the third time we’ve hosted it.

On the night, we were joined by Stuart McCall, Kris Boyd and Tom Boyd, who shared their insights, stories, and perspectives from the game at the highest level, adding another layer to The Club. We also had the pleasure of welcoming in the suite who went on the stage to have a quick chat with Mark Benstead.

Guests were welcomed with champagne on arrival, setting the tone for the night ahead. our guests also had a stunning 3 course meal with their complimentary drinks flowing through the evening.

Each guest also received a commemorative gold-plated coin, marking Scotland’s qualification for the World Cup, a small detail, but one that reflects the significance of the moment and gives everyone something to take away from the occasion.

Most importantly, the event ran seamlessly. The feedback from guests was extremely positive, with no issues on the night and a strong sense that everyone had enjoyed the experience from start to finish.

While the result didn’t go Scotland’s way, falling short 1-0 defeat to Japan, it did little to take away from what was a memorable evening at Hampden Park.
